The website includes a sophisticated, but easy to operate and manage, administration interface, allowing staff at SkillsActive to update the site regularly without the need for in-depth technical knowledge.
As a platform agnostic organisation, Bryteworks was able to offer, and help SkillsActive choose from, a wide range of content management systems, thus ensuring that the solution provided would meet their present and future needs. An Open Source Solution called Plone was chosen for its superior power, flexibility and large and growing support community.
The next phase of development will focus on improving
the over all user experience and enhancing and adding
to the features and resources currently available.
About SkillsActive
SkillsActive is the Sector Skills Council for Active leisure and Learning. It has been established by employers in Sport, Recreation, Health and Fitness, Playwork, Outdoor Education and Training and the Caravan Industries.
As a registered charity and a membership organisation
for employers and voluntary organisations in its
Sector, SkillsActive receives funding for its core
functions from the Sector Skills Development Agency;
as a result of being licensed by Government.
SkillsActive works in close partnership with the
Department for Education and Skills, the Department
for Culture, Media and Sport, the Devolved Administrations
and the Home Country Sport Council to deliver its
programme of activities.
